PHOENIX — Eligible families can receive free diapers from the Maricopa County Department of Human Services.
The new “Diaper Bank” will gift more than 700,000 diapers to families around Maricopa County.
Diapers will also be provided to Maricopa County residents outside of Phoenix, Glendale, and Mesa. Anyone enrolled in the Maricopa County Head Start Program is also eligible.
Families must also meet income requirements and be within 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), which equates to an annual income of $45,000 for a family of four, according to the news release.
“We understand the financial burden that families face in feeding their children. With free diapers available through our diaper bank, parents can afford to spend their own money without compromising their child’s health. This diaper bank is just one “maricopa county is working in many more ways to provide relief to families,” said welfare director Jacqueline Edwards.
The Diaper Bank offers a variety of sizes, from newborns to older children, including Young Adult sizes for children with special needs. Eligible families can save approximately $75 worth of diapers per child.
Diapers are distributed every year Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm While stock lasts.
