YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – The newly appointed Yuma County Election Commissioner will oversee Yuma’s first mail-only special election.
A lifelong Yuma native, she said she has what it takes to lead a team to make sure every vote counts in the next special election.
Francisca “Kika” Guzman started working in the elections department over ten years ago.
She said her wealth of experience and knowledge prepared her for the city’s upcoming special elections.
While this kind of election is the first for Yuma, it is nothing new for Guzman.
“The city of San Luis and the town of Welton have all had postal elections in the past. This is not the first all-postal election rodeo…we are ready for the process,” Guzman said. rice field.
A special election is scheduled for November this year.
Voting will allow voters to decide many things, including whether a mayor or city council member deserves a raise.
