It’s county fair season at Olmsted, Wabasha and Fillmore counties – Post Bulletin

Rochester — The Grandstand is temporarily closed, but that doesn’t mean this year’s Olmsted County Fair won’t be a big one.

A temporary “field stand” was set up in the southwest corner of the venue.

There are two kickoff events for this year’s fair this weekend.

Glow, the fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Gala, opens on Friday, July 21, 2023. The event is his 5K walk/run in 6 zones featuring glow lighting, bubbles, black lights, music, and an all-ages afterparty.

Pre-fair all-day family event Polo Urias will be held on Saturday 22nd July. This event is a fair itself with bounce houses, mechanical bulls, Mexican food and live music.

The fair kicks off on Tuesday 25th July with a carnival, public events and live music.

Jana Kramer headlined the fieldstand while Six Mile Grove opened the show.

Banquet at the Wabasha County Fair

Wabasha, Minnesota — The Wabasha County Fair features four days of food, entertainment, rides, entertainment and grandstand events. The fair will be held from Wednesday, July 19th through Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at the Wabasha County Fairgrounds in Wabasha.

New this year is Rock’n’Circus, a high-energy, fast-paced circus stunt show.

Entertainment highlights include:

  • The Crystal Kennels dog sledding exhibit ‘Iron Will’ provides a true historical account of the story behind the Disney movie ‘Iron Will’.
  • AZ Exotic Animal has a petting zoo.

Grandstand events include:

  • July 20th (Thursday) Skid loader driving contest.
  • Bull riding begins Friday, July 21st at 7pm.
  • The IMP sponsored autocross race will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at 5pm.

Fillmore County All About Entertainment

PRESTON, Minnesota — The Fillmore County Fair will run from Tuesday, July 18 to Saturday, July 22, 2023, featuring live music, entertainment, rides and events.

The fair features free music at the Beer Barn, including:

  • Troubleshooter, Thursday, July 20 at 8:30 PM.
  • Red Letter Band, Friday, July 21, 8:30 p.m.
  • Rustic Moon, Saturday, July 22, 8:30 p.m.

Grandstand events include:

  • Ranch Rodeo Show on Wednesday, July 19th at 6:30pm.
  • Tractor Towing Thursday 20th July at 7pm.
  • T&C Rodeo, Friday, July 21, 7pm.
  • Demolition Derby Saturday 22nd July at 7pm.

Rochester — Assisi Heights continues its outdoor mindfulness activities with a space hike at the Ashesi Heights Canticle Park. People can explore its beauty and learn about the region’s history, which dates back millions of years. Hiking trails often have uneven terrain and rough gravel, not suitable for strollers. Please dress appropriately for the situation.
