MSNBC Guest Says It’s ‘Textbook Fascism’ For Trump To Reform Federal Bureaucracy

Eugene Robinson, who appeared as a guest on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” argued Tuesday that former President Donald Trump’s attempt to fire some federal bureaucrats would amount to “textbook fascism.”

In a conversation with someone MSNBC panel Robinson, who includes Jen Psaki and Joe Scarborough, cited recent reports that Trump is planning national reforms if he is re-elected, saying Trump “will keep us safe.” He expressed concern about expelling “people” and “those who know how to run things”.The executive branch will increase the number of federal offices accountable to the president

“This makes the move to fascism possible. This is textbook fascism. It’s outrageous. It’s incredibly dangerous and only for our democratic systems and democratic values.” No, it’s just dangerous,” said Robinson. “He essentially has the federal bureaucrats who know how to run things, who keep the country working, who keep our air and water safe, who keep us safe in the intelligence services and the Department of Defense. We are essentially saying that we want to fire him.”
