TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Pima County Supervisor Adelita Grijalva made history on Tuesday when the Governing Body elected the first Latino president.
Grijalva was elected chairman by a 4-to-1 vote, replacing outgoing chairman Sharon Bronson. District 4 Supervisor Steve Christie had the only “no” vote.
District 1 Supervisor Rex Scott serves as Vice Chair of the Board.
Grijalva is midway through his first term on the Supervisory Board elected for a four-year term in 2020. Previously, he served on the governing board of the Tucson Unified School District for 20 years.
