Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie has hit back at criticism from his co-hosts on “The View” for saying he would not vote for President Joe Biden in the 2024 general election.
Co-host Joy Behar waved after Christie said she would not vote for either Biden or former President Donald Trump. Behar accused him of being a “cop” and co-host Sunny Hostin said he would give up his right to vote.
“Who would you vote for if it was Trump vs. Biden?” Behar asked.
“I'm not voting for either. I don't. No, don't give me that!” the former New Jersey governor said.
“That's a cop,” Behar said.
“No, that's not a cop,” Christie pushed back. (Related article: 'The View''s Alyssa Farrah Griffin visibly furious with co-host for suggesting Biden was too old to be president)
“It's a cop,” Behar repeated.
“You want me to choose-” Christy began before Hostin could interject.
“Would you like to renounce your right to vote?” Hostin asked.
“No, I'm going to vote for everyone on the ticket. But I'm not going to vote for — you know, someone who I believe can no longer hold the office of president, which means Joe Biden and I’m not going to vote for anyone.”
When Hostin interjected and said he believed Trump was capable in the past, Christie responded that he was wrong to believe that.
Christie, a strong opponent of Trump, was not eligible to participate in CNN's Republican presidential primary debate on Jan. 10. Currently, his approval rating is 3.8% in national Republican presidential primary polls. according to To FiveThirtyEight.
