Native Air opens new base expanding air medical services in Yavapai County | Williams-Grand Canyon News

Cottonwood, Ariz. – Air Methods has announced a new Native Air emergency medical services location in Cottonwood. The opening of Native Air 83 will serve Yavapai county and beyond.

Native Air 83 is located on the wide Verde River at Cottonwood Airport. Native Air 83 will join existing Air Stations Native 4, 14 and 7 serving Yavapai, Coconino and Gila counties to expand critical care in the region. Native Air provides 24/7 local critical care and responds to emergency medical requests for traumatic events such as heart attacks, strokes, pediatric emergencies, burns and other accidents. In addition, this team provides critical inter-facility transportation when patients need to travel between hospitals for specialized care.

Native Air 83 is equipped with Bell 407 aircraft and industry-leading equipment and medical equipment. The aircraft and crew are proficient in high-altitude flight, making it suitable for calls in mountainous and rural scenes. The Native Air crew will carry the vital tools, medicines and supplies needed to achieve Commission for Medical Transport Systems Certification (CAMTS) and provide her ICU-level care during the flight.
