‘What’s Next?’: Dem Assemblywoman Rips Biden, Adams Over NYC School’s Use For Illegal Aliens

A New York state congressman from New York City has criticized President Joe Biden and Democratic Mayor Eric Adams after a high school was temporarily closed to house illegal immigrants.

James Madison High School in Brooklyn announced Students will “pivot to remote learning” on Tuesday to accommodate the 2,000 undocumented immigrants being held at Floyd Bennett Field. Democratic state Rep. Jamie Williams of New York called the change “disruptive” for students. “It's not fair to our parents,” Williams told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “I was there this morning too, and the community is furious because immigrants are being prioritized over our children and our community here. What's next?”

More than 130,000 immigrants have arrived in New York City in the past year and a half, The New York Times reported. reportTo that end, Mr. Adams announced a number of budget cuts in November, including Sunday library closures and a hiring freeze for the New York City Police Department, as part of an effort to address housing costs for immigrants arriving in New York City.

“We took a national issue that the federal government, the Biden administration, had turned a blind eye to and brought it to the housing community on the southeast side of Brooklyn,” Williams said. “And now our residents have to deal with issues like that. And it's not fair to us. It's not fair to every single tax-paying American.”

Mr. Adams announced on Thursday that he would sue the bus companies that transport immigrants into the city over the financial difficulties New York City is facing due to the influx of immigrants. Republican governors Greg Abbott of Texas and Doug Ducey of Arizona have begun busing migrants to New York City and other so-called “sanctuary” cities in 2022.

“You don't have the tools to find it, you don't have to invent new words,” Williams said. “Plain English. Let's close our borders and deal with the situation instead of allowing others to control us and put the American people in a corner. Not just for my district, but for every single American who pays taxes in this country.” It’s not fair.”
