Take me to the library! The Maricopa County Library District (MCLD) annual winter reading program is back with an exciting new award partner.
This year, when winter readers reach 500 points, they can win one lawn ticket to a spring training baseball game at Camelback Ranch Ballpark. Until February 11, 2024, participants can record their reading records online. Winter.mcldaz.org (English) or invierno.mcldaz.org (Spanish).
Unlike the summer reading program, MCLD's winter reading program is for adults only. Participants earn 1 point for every minute they read a physical or e-book or listen to an audiobook. You can also earn extra points by completing themed online challenges.
“We hope the winter reading program will encourage people to slow down and enjoy a good book this winter,” said Maricopa County Library District Director and County Librarian Jeremy Reeder. “And once that much-needed ‘me’ time is over, it’s time to head to the ballpark and celebrate with a game.”
When readers enter at least 60 points each week, they are automatically entered into a weekly drawing to win a library prize pack, Harkins Theater prize pack, “I Love My Library” car sunshade, or a day pass to a Maricopa County park. All participants who reach 500 points by February 11th will receive one lawn ticket to a spring training baseball game at Camelback Ranch Ballpark.
