News Flash • Maricopa County Allocates $1 Million to Help Ho

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously at its Oct. 18 meeting to approve an agreement to provide $1 million in funding to homeowners in the Town of Guadalupe to assist with home repairs. The average repair cost is estimated at $20,000 per home, and the funding is expected to help at least 50 homeowners between now and March 2025.

“This collaboration exemplifies Maricopa County's dedication to all housing needs across the county,” said District 4 Board of Supervisors Chairman Clint Hickman. It contributes to the lives of all residents, including creating a healthier and safer living environment for homeowners. ”

This joint effort will fund repairs to roofs, plumbing, electrical, septic/sewer, HVAC, appliances, doors, windows, etc., add ADA compliance, resolve moisture issues, security, pests, etc. Used to address storage, safety and hygiene issues. . This project is an ongoing effort to improve living conditions and maintain affordable housing within the Town of Guadalupe.

The funding comes from federal American Rescue Plan Act funds appropriated by Maricopa County. The City of Guadalupe will also donate his $200,000 to the program, bringing the total budget for the project to his $1.2 million.

Homeowners must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • use your home as your primary residence
  • Failure to pay mortgage, property taxes, or homeowners insurance
  • Household income is 80% or less of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • If you sell or transfer your home, you agree that the grant must be repaid over five years.
