International and independent film distributor Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired North American rights to the Western heist film The Last Stop in Yuma County.
Writer/director Francis Galluppi's debut film bowed at Austin's Fantastic Fest before heading to Sitges. XYZ Films and UTA are co-representing North American sales. Acquisition negotiations were negotiated on behalf of Well Go USA by Brennan Lane, and on behalf of the filmmakers by John McGrath (UTA) and Pip Ngo (XYZ).
The film is set in Arizona in the 1980s and follows the journey of a knife salesman. Stranded and forced to wait at a rural rest stop, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a violent hostage situation when two bank robbers on the run from a recent heist arrive. .
The cast includes Jim Cummings (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Jocelyn Donahue (The Devil's House), Sierra McCormick (The Best of Night), and Nicholas Logan (I・Care Lott”) will be in charge. , Michael Abbott Jr. (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), and Connor Paolo (“The Creature Was Starling”). Rounding out the ensemble cast are Alex Essoe (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Robin Bartlett (The Fabelmans), John Proudstar (Reservation Dogs), and Sam Huntington. (“Being Human”) and Ryan Masson (“Good”). Barbara Crampton (The Young and the Restless), Jean Jones (Killers of the Flower Moon), Faizon Love (Elf), Richard Brake (“Barbarian'').
Produced by Local Boogieman Productions, Matt O'Neill (Candy Corn), Atif Malik (Punching Henry), Gallippi, and James Craze, Brian Darling, Kyle Stroud, Cummings , starring Nicholas Logan. Joe Heath will serve as executive producer.
The film is scheduled to be released in North American theaters in the second quarter.
