Brad Pitt Accused Of On-Set Volatility By Director In Book: REPORT

“Legends of the Fall” director Ed Zwick said in an excerpt from his memoir “Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years in Hollywood,” published Tuesday by Vanity Fair. He criticized megastar Brad Pitt's “erratic'' behavior on set.

Apparently, Pitt would get “excited” before filming scenes that required him to dig deep into himself for emotional impact, Zwick said. I have written Excerpt from Vanity Fair magazine. “I don't know who screamed first, who swore, who threw the chair first. Me, maybe? But when we looked up, the crew was gone. And then… “It wasn't the last time that happened,” Zwick reportedly claimed.

Zwick explained to Vanity Fair that Pitt was cast as Tristan Ludlow in the 1994 film only because Tom Cruise left the production. And legend has it that Pitt also tried to quit the film, so the producers had to convince him to stay.

“It was the first foreshadowing of a deeper well of emotion bubbling within Brad. He seems good-natured at first, but can become unstable when enraged. Once filming began, we were very close to each other. “I was reminded again and again to take precautions,” Zwick continued in Vanity Fair. “No matter how experienced or sensitive you are as a director, sometimes things don't work out.”

The director reportedly added, “His thoughts about Tristan were different than mine.”

In the excerpt, Zwick attributed Pitt's behavior to Pitt being raised around “men who suppressed their emotions.” And the more he pressed Pitt to reveal his true identity, the more Pitt pushed back, reportedly.

The situation reached a climax when Zwick handed Pitt a note in front of the crew, according to an excerpt from Vanity Fair. “Brad also came back at me, yelling, and he told me to back off,” Zwick said. “The action considered would have been to tell the crew to go in groups of five and talk it out between the two of us. But I was hot in the blood and had no intention of softening it.”

According to excerpts, Zwick was angry that Pitt didn't trust him to “influence his performance.” And apparently this wasn't a one-time thing. “The crew were used to our dust and were leaving and trying to get us to let it out,” and in one instance Pitt reportedly threw a chair. But through all of this, Zwick seems to have nothing but nice things to say about Pitt's personality in the excerpt, describing him as a “straightforward, straightforward person, someone who's fun to be around and someone who brings you great joy.” are doing.
