News Flash • Maricopa County Extends Diaper Bank

Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously On January 24, 2024, we decided to extend the county's highly successful diaper bank program through September 2024. To date, the county has provided more than 400,000 free diapers to families in need.

“I have always been impressed by the way the Human Services Department supports families, especially the Head Start program, which provides free, high-quality child care,” said President Jack Sellers. “This diaper bank program is another way Maricopa County is making sure families are provided for.”

Arizona Community Activities Association will provide diapers. Diaper prices range from $0.30 to over $0.75 per diaper, depending on size and features. The program offers diapers in a variety of sizes from newborns to older children, including young adult sizes for children with special needs. The monthly supply from the Maricopa County Diaper Bank provides eligible families with approximately $75 worth of diapers per child.

“Our diaper bank program does more than ease the financial burden for low-income families,” said Jacqueline Edwards, director of human services. “This program also serves as a touchpoint for families to learn about other services we offer that can improve their quality of life, such as job fairs, rental assistance, and early education.”
