In a unanimous vote, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement providing a total of $2.3 million in funding to enhance homeownership opportunities in Guadalupe.

“Maricopa County is committed to ensuring more families have a permanent, safe and affordable place to call home,” said District 5 Supervisor Steve Gallardo. “These projects not only provide homeownership opportunities for Guadalupe families, they improve quality of life and bring hope to this community.”

The funding, part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), will be used to build three homes and add seven more homes. It is planned to be constructed. It will be built.

The three completed homes are for sale, each with four bedrooms, one and three-quarter bathrooms, a two-car garage, and 1,500 square feet of total living space. Six new two-story homes will be built on two lots: 5603 E. Calle Iglesia and 5604 E. Calle Mexico. The six homes have three bedrooms, 1 3/4 bathrooms and approximately 2,500 square feet of living space.

To ensure this work continues, the Board of Supervisors has allocated additional funds to build one one- and four-bedroom home. The home has 1 3/4 bathrooms, a two-car garage, and approximately 1,500 square feet of total living space. The home is located at 5532 E. Calle Encinas.

Each home will be available to first-time homebuyers with incomes at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) ($74,800 per year for a family of four). The homes will also be built with accessibility, sustainability and energy efficiency in mind to make operating costs as manageable as possible and promote a healthy living environment.
