President Joe Biden on Thursday night removed the name of slain Georgia nursing student Laken Riley after being heckled by members of Congress during his State of the Union address.

During the speech, lawmakers could be heard off-screen yelling for Biden to say Laken Riley's name before the crowd began booing the explosion. Biden began referring to the disturbance by repeating the name of the student who died, but she got her first name wrong. “Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman killed by illegal aliens, that's right. But how many out of thousands? [are] They are being murdered by legal professionals,” Biden said. “To her parents, as someone who lost their child myself, I offer my deepest condolences to her parents.”

“But try changing the dynamics at the border. People are paying smugglers $8,000 to cross the border, but they realize that if they make it through and get into the country, it will take six to eight years to get a hearing.” Because they know it's worth taking a chance on. [with] $8,000 – but for just 6 weeks, here’s the idea. [that] Few people will pay that much money to come all the way knowing they will be kicked out immediately. Folks, I respectfully suggest to my Republican friends that we owe it to the American people to get this bill done. We need to act now,” Biden continued.

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was later seen yelling at Biden as she tried to reassure the crowd as the president continued to talk about the border crisis.

Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, was found dead on the University of Georgia campus after going for a mid-afternoon run. Georgian authorities later identified and charged Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra with Riley's murder.
