Alabama Young Republicans holding state committee meeting in Birmingham this weekend



This weekend, Alabama Young Republicans will have the opportunity to meet and network with other young leaders within the Alabama Republican Party and state government officials.

May 31st June 1stAlabama Young Republicans kick off their biennial state committee meeting in Birmingham. The biennial state conference also includes the YRFA Summer Meeting and Social Gathering, scheduled for this weekend.

On Friday evening, participants will participate in a social and dinner at Activate in Birmingham, and on Saturday morning, YR will meet at Hoover Tactical for a state committee meeting.

YRFA partnered with Life South to host a blood drive at Hoover Tactical during the State Board meeting.

Judge Jay Mitchell, along with state Rep. Mike Shaw (R-Hoover) and state Rep. Brock Colvin (R-Albertville), will be guest speakers on Saturday to provide an update on this year's legislative session.

Junior Republican members meeting Saturday morning will have the opportunity to have their headshots professionally taken after the state committee meeting.

Following the conference, YRs will be invited to “Camp Nababian” along the Cahaba River for a barbecue lunch and social gathering.

Camp Nababian is the nickname for Stephanie Peter's home on the Cahaba River. Peter is YRFA's president.

Peteros' Camp Nababian has a pier for swimming and fishing, hiking trails, and swim rings and life jackets are provided.

Raelynn McLaughlin YRFA's communications director said the organization “looks forward to meeting with this group of talented young Republicans from across the state. It's going to be a great weekend focused on building strong teams.”

“We have some great speakers coming to the conference on Saturday and we encourage all attendees to take part in a LifeSouth blood drive,” McLaughlin said.
