CNN Host Kasie Hunt Defends Kicking Off Trump Spox Mid-Interview, Gets Ratio’d Into Oblivion

CNN's Casey Hunt defended her decision to take President Trump's spokesperson, Caroline Leavitt, off the air Monday morning, but was slammed on Twitter for doing so.

Hunt abruptly ended the interview with Leavitt after just three minutes after Leavitt continued to question the objectivity of his CNN colleagues, particularly Jake Tapper.

Mr Hunt later defended the decision on Twitter.

“Please stay on my show and respect my colleagues. That's it. I don't care what side you're on as my track record clearly shows,” she tweeted Monday morning. (Related: 'Don't drop the bar on the floor': Low expectations can't save Biden's sleepy debate performance, observers say)

At the time of publication, over 7,000 people had replied to the post and just over 4,000 had liked it. This huge difference between likes and replies is called a ratio.

“LOL. Everything she said was true. You have zero respect for your guest. Stop pretending to be impartial. You're a Democrat propaganda pig,” popular meme account Cattured replied.

“Everyone knows exactly what's going on. You're not a journalist. You're a propagandist for the administration. Someone stupid enough to demonstrate censorship of the truth on live air. And Biden's political opponents,” Jeff Carlson responded.

Another astute commenter pointed out that while Hunt defended her network and her colleagues' impartiality, her Twitter header featured a photo of her and President Biden.

Levitt himself responded in kind.

“My microphone was cut off after the debate moderator brought up my history of anti-Trump lies,” she responded by tweeting. “This proves our point that President Trump will not be treated fairly on Thursday. Yet he intends to take on this 3-on-1 battle to deliver a winning message to the American people — and he will win,” Leavitt concluded.

Trump is scheduled to face Biden on Thursday in the earliest CNN debate in presidential election history. The brawl in Atlanta will be the first of two the candidates have agreed to, including one hosted by ABC News on Sept. 10.

The debate will be televised on CNN but without a studio audience, at the request of the Biden campaign.
