In the latest move by the left to try to block President Donald Trump's reelection through a criminal trial, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall traveled to New York City today to voice his support for President Trump.
“I've been a prosecutor for 30 years and I care deeply about what's going on in our criminal justice system, and I've never seen in my career a distortion of the criminal justice system as great as what we've witnessed this morning,” Marshall said after leaving court.
He was particularly unhappy with the rounds of questioning of Michael Cohen, a one-time Trump lawyer who is now an informant.
“There are more questions about Michael Cohen's feelings than there are about linking him to criminal activity.”

Marshall also cited the findings of an investigation into efforts by a former district attorney for New York County, New York, to put President Trump on trial.
“I had the privilege of working with Cy Vance when I was District Attorney, and I know his team reviewed these facts and rejected any attempt to use this city's resources to pursue a false prosecution.”

In April, the attorney general also questioned the legal basis of a lawsuit brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the political motivations of those involved.
“Look at where power has already been abused,” Marshall said. “It took 30 months for the special counsel to bring these charges on facts that have been in the press for quite some time. And when they think about the issue of delay — whether or not there will be a timely trial — they need look no further than President Trump's trial team.”
“The question is, why did the special counsel have to wait so long to bring these charges in the first place?”
