Britt: Political prosecutions attempting to distract from reality that ‘people want Donald Trump back in the White House’

U.S. Senator Katie Britt appeared on Fox News this morning to discuss former President Donald Trump and the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Senator Britt also revived her call for a full impeachment trial of President Biden's Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.

Britt told Fox the left is “obsessed” with former President Trump and that his trial, which begins today, shows that.

“There's a reason why both federal and state prosecutors have said they won't be moving forward with this case,” Britt said, “and Alvin Bragg wants to come into this field and make a name for himself.”

“People are tired of the two-tiered justice system that we're seeing. The more the media talks about this, and you're going to see them do that, the less they're going to talk about how terrible this country is under Joe Biden's administration.”

“They know the American people want to see Donald Trump back in the White House. They simply cannot stand that,” Britt said.

“I mean, just think about what's going on right now across the country, whether it's at the border, whether it's overseas, whether it's how many dollars are being spent here at home. Under Joe Biden, it's a total disaster.”

“So we need Donald Trump to get his message out and mobilize more people. And if that happens, people know he's going to win in November. They just can't stand it. So we need to bring him back.”

She also raised the possibility of a full Senate impeachment trial of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, saying Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has the power to hold an impeachment trial but questioned whether he would do so.

“We need to keep up this momentum, because all Senator Chuck Schumer wants to do is take this issue off the agenda so he can sweep it under the rug.”

“Chuck Schumer would rather spend his time putting highly partisan justices on the court and making sure we don't actually do our jobs. So what you're seeing right now is impeachment waiting to get to the Senate,” Britt explained.

“This is something we need to keep putting pressure on Chuck Schumer.”

“It's unprecedented in 150 years since these events occurred that a free and public trial like this has not been held before the American people.”

“Whether it's drug cartels, human trafficking or terrorists, they're completely open to attack under the failed policies of Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas. Someone has to be held accountable.”

Britt revealed some sobering statistics that highlight the failure of Mayorkas and the Biden administration in addressing the problems at the southern border.

“I'll tell you what Chuck Schumer doesn't want people to know,” Britt said.

“If you look at fentanyl addiction, it's the leading cause of death among 18- to 45-year-olds.”

“Under President Trump, human trafficking was a half-billion-dollar industry in this country. Under Joe Biden's administration, human trafficking is the third-largest billion-dollar industry. Men, women and children are suffering and paying the price.”

“Speaking of terrorists, the FBI director said in a Senate hearing just a few months ago that he's seeing flashing lights all over the place. Under President Trump's administration, we know that there were only 14 terrorists that came to the border, but we're looking at over 350.”

“This doesn't even take into account the unknowns: over 1.8 million people, and counting, who we don't know who they are, where they're going, or what their intentions are.”

“This is truly a despicable act and the American people deserve to be treated better.”
