MSNBC host Joy Reid said Democrats are “panic-stricken” after President Joe Biden's “extremely weak” performance against former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential debate.
Biden spoke hoarsely and his questions were stuttered throughout the debate, causing panic among his party members and the liberal media.
“The overall reaction was bordering on panic,” Reid said. “The people I was texting with were very concerned that President Biden looked very weak, very weak. And I'll repeat what I said earlier: President Biden had one job tonight, and one job in the primary, which was to litigate President Trump's criminal conduct and all of these other issues, but he had to calm his own party. He had to calm the Democrats. The Democrats are always saying that the Democrats are bedwetting and panicking all the time.”
“Yes, Democrats are always panicking, they're always scared, they always think they're going to lose,” she continued. “Democrats are very pessimistic, that's their personality,” she added. “They're nervous. But Joe Biden's job tonight was to reassure them. His job was to calm his party, to make them feel like, yes, I can do this, I have four more years, I have the ability and the stamina and the strength to do it for four more years. He didn't do that. He did the opposite.”

“He knows he has a particular demographic advantage that Donald Trump can't match. He knows how to speak to them because he's real working-class white people, which is actually Donald Trump's base. He believes he's the only one who can do that. The problem is, after tonight, his party doesn't believe that,” she concluded.
Two of Biden's aides rushed to his defence, claiming the president had a cold, though the Biden campaign had not mentioned the alleged cold before the debate began. according to To Politico.
Polls have repeatedly shown that voters don't think Biden is mentally capable of serving a second term, and members of his own party and liberal media pundits have rushed to his defence.
