YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — An Arizona father is facing criminal charges after allegedly making his children inhale “laughing gas.”
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said a suspect was recently taken into custody after investigators found several large containers. Nitrous oxide His residence is stocked with gases used by dentists as sedatives and painkillers.
Police received a call on June 4 from the mother of the suspect's children, who said she had video evidence of the father and sons inhaling gas from a balloon. The suspect allegedly confessed to the mother that he had given the gas to the children.
YCSO determined that the gas inhalation incidents occurred repeatedly over a period of several hours while the boys, ages 12 and 13, were visiting their father. During the visit, the suspects put the children in a four-wheel drive vehicle and drove around the Ash Fork neighborhood, causing one of the boys to lose consciousness, YCSO said.
The suspect is charged with child abuse, endangerment, furnishing harmful materials to a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia.
