SiriusXM's Megyn Kelly on Wednesday slammed the White House for reportedly assigning eldest son Hunter Biden to the role of “back-up Biden.”
Hunter Biden has been one of the toughest demands for his father to assume the presidency, according to a person familiar with the matter. The New York TimesThe eldest son has been attending regular meetings with senior White House aides since Biden's concerning debate performance on June 27. NBC News Kelly was reportedly aghast at reports that Hunter Biden was so involved in the president's affairs, saying having him in the room was a “huge problem.”
“Hunter is in a White House meeting right now,” Kelly said. “Hunter Biden is there right now too. Hunter Biden, a convicted felon… Hunter Biden, a drug addict, who is allegedly clean now, is now accompanying the president to every meeting and is apparently Biden's backup. And people like Mika Brzezinski are defending it as no big deal. But this is a big deal and there are real questions of whether this is appropriate and why he's there. They're saying the White House is saying, 'Oh, it's just a holiday week.' So what does that mean? Is it like being your kid or is it take your son to work day because it's coming up to the Fourth of July?”
In June, a Delaware jury convicted Hunter Biden of three felony firearms charges related to his purchase of a revolver and making false statements about his drug addiction. (Related: Fauci: Joe Biden is fine, for real, buy my book too)
An astonished Kelly called the situation “astonishing” and noted that the White House had reportedly said polling data meant Biden was more likely to “know the truth.” Pack News.
Post-debate polls have shown that Democratic strongholds like New Hampshire, Virginia and New Mexico are “battlegrounds” for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in 2024. Kelly also said polls have shown Biden's support plummeting in battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and Nevada.
“The electoral map based on the OpenLab report would look like this: Biden with 205 electoral votes, Trump with 333. 333 votes. That would be a landslide victory,” Kelly said.
“Mr. Biden lost at least two points in every battleground state,” she continued. “According to the latest CBS poll, Mr. Biden is losing by four points to Mr. Trump this debate week. Four points in every battleground state.”
“Pennsylvania and Michigan. Biden is seven points behind. Georgia he's 10 points behind. Nevada he's nine points behind. Virginia he's 0.6 percentage points behind Trump, not a lot, but he's behind Trump in Virginia. New Mexico he's 0.5 percentage points behind Trump, not a lot, but in these reliably Democratic states,” Kelly said.
“New Hampshire is a state that Joe Biden won by seven points in 2020, and just a few months ago in December, he held a 10-point lead, but now Biden is trailing by two points. He's trailing by 10 points in New Hampshire,” Kelly said. “In New Mexico, where Biden won by 11 points, Joe Biden is now just two points ahead of Trump. In June alone, before the debate, Biden was ahead by seven points.”
