News Flash • Maricopa County Human Services Seeks Public Inp

The Maricopa County Human Resources Department is seeking public input to assess community needs and address fair housing issues in the county.

Feedback received from the Community Needs Assessment Survey includes:

  • Assists in prioritizing federally funded programs.
  • Share development needs within the community.
  • Make a difference for affordable housing.

The study's purpose is to help prioritize federally funded programs and grants to build and replace public facilities, infrastructure, affordable housing preservation, housing development, public services, and homelessness prevention.

Residents can provide feedback in a few ways.

The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 25th at: Starting at 6pm:

  • Maricopa County East Valley Career Center: 1001 W. Southern Ave., Suite 101, Rooms 116 and 117, Mesa, AZ 85210
  • Maricopa County West Valley Career Center: 4425 W. Olive Ave., Room 207, Glendale, AZ 85302

The 2025-2029 Consolidated Planning and Regional Analysis of Barriers to Fair Housing Choice is being conducted by the Maricopa HOME Consortium, which receives U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding to preserve and increase the supply of affordable housing in Maricopa County. Consortium members include Avondale, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale, Surprise, Tempe and Maricopa Metropolitan Counties.
