Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi lashed out Wednesday when a reporter questioned her about President Joe Biden's ability to serve a second term in office.
Pelosi declined to say whether she was concerned about Biden's reelection, as a growing number of Democrats have called on the president to step down due to his performance in the June 27 debate. Appearing on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Wednesday, the former House speaker said the decision on whether to continue in the campaign “is up to the president.”
“Do you believe he waited this long to make this decision?” the reporter began Wednesday.
“I'm not going to be in the hallways commenting on the fate of our country, OK?” Pelosi responded.
“Are you worried about whether he'll win in November?” she asked.
“I think he can do it,” the former speaker said.
“Do you think he should run for reelection?” she asked.
“I'm … speaking to you in English? I'm not going to make any statements about that in the hallway right now,” Pelosi responded. (RELATED: 'It's a terrible situation': Biden delegate predicts 'bloodbath' if president holds onto certification)

Democrats have been urging Biden to drop out of the race to ensure the party's chances of defeating former President Donald Trump in November's presidential election. Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas became the first Democrat to oppose Biden's nomination, and several more quickly followed suit.
Democrats entered the meeting on Tuesday in reported disarray, with Tennessee Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen telling reporters that House Democrats were “not in agreement” on Biden's candidacy.
In raw footage first obtained by TMZ, ABC News reporter George Stephanopoulos told an unidentified person that he didn't think Biden could serve another four years as president. He later expressed regret for speaking out against Biden's candidacy, and ABC News said his comments did not reflect the network's views.
