A SET status has been issued for the area near Ghost Town Road north of Congress due to the Hillside Fire.
YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — Fire crews are responding to “multiple fires” in Yavapai County, including one near the Baghdad Airport. Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (AZDFFM).
“Three fire engines and state rescue teams are currently on the scene,” the department said.
The Hillside Fire broke out north of Capitol Hill.
Fire crews are also responding to the Hillside Fire, which is burning three miles north of the Capitol, fire officials said.
a SET Status Evacuation shelters have been established for this purpose, and residents should be prepared to evacuate if a GO order is issued.
Five homes are currently at risk of fire.
“A single-engine aerial refueling tanker has been requested to carry out the attack, but there are concerns about weather conditions, including strong winds, which could hinder the launch operation,” the agency said.
Officials said the 20-acre fire was moving south toward town and “winds are a concern.”
Officials said fire activity in the area was being fuelled by “outflow winds.”

As Arizona residents in particular begin to see early and widespread fire activity across the state, residents in wildfire-prone areas are urged to prepare emergency supply kits to take with them when evacuating their homes.
An emergency supply kit should be prepared long before a wildfire or other disaster strikes, and it should be stored in an easily accessible place so you can take it with you if you need to evacuate.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends that residents living near disaster sites store emergency supplies in plastic containers, small suitcases, trash cans, backpacks or other containers.
The NFPA says residents should make sure they have essential items on hand, such as three gallons of water per person and a three-day supply of prepared meals. First-aid kits, prescription medications, contact lenses and over-the-counter medications should also be considered.
The NFPA says people should also carry copies of important family documents, such as insurance policies, identification, bank records and emergency contact numbers, and place them in their kit in a waterproof, portable container.
The association lists the following as other items that would be useful in the event of a disaster:
Sleeping bags or warm blankets for each person
A battery-powered or hand-crank radio and a NOAA weather radio to receive the latest weather information
A dust mask or cotton T-shirt to filter the air
Matches in a waterproof container
Store a change of clothes, including long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, and sturdy shoes, in a waterproof container.
