Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters said Tuesday that he will revoke the teaching certificate of an Ardmore City Schools teacher for making comments praising someone who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
Walters is announcement Walters said he plans to revoke teacher Allison Scott's teaching license in response to a Facebook comment in which she agreed with another user praising the shooter. After seeing the comment, Walters said: Announced X announced the state was conducting an investigation into Scott and called it “unacceptable.”
“I will not tolerate teachers cheering on plots to assassinate President Trump,” Walters told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The radical teachers unions have shown how much they hate President Trump… The radical left is responding to that. We will not tolerate this in Oklahoma classrooms. So if we see a teacher doing this, that teacher's certification will be revoked and they will no longer be in the classroom.”
The instructor's Facebook comment was in response to a post that read, “Tell me, the guy who just shot Trump in the ear, we're going to fine him $500 for trying to save us,” to which Scott later replied, “I agree!! “This is unacceptable. [The state department of education] “We are investigating. We will not tolerate teachers cheering on violence against @realDonaldTrump,” Walters' first statement on X on Tuesday read. “We have fully investigated. We are revoking her teaching certificate. She will no longer teach in Oklahoma,” Walters said in a second post on X.

Walters told DCNF that the superintendent's office confirmed that the account that posted the comments was associated with Scott and that the process of revoking her teaching license requires a vote at the next school board meeting.
Ardmore City Schools said it is aware of the employee's social media posts and cannot comment on any actions because it is a private matter. press release District officials said on their website that they have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
“Our parents don't want this kind of horrible thing happening in our schools. They want good teachers who are focused on academics, not social justice warriors,” Walters told DCNF.
A faculty member at Bellarmine University in Kentucky was suspended on Monday for comments he made about the assassination attempt on President Trump. The Bellarmine faculty member was placed on unpaid administrative leave after posting “If you're gonna shoot, don't miss” on social media next to a photo of President Trump.
Bellarmine's vice president of public affairs confirmed the screenshot of the post was authentic, and the university released a statement to Mr. X on Monday evening, saying it was aware of the offensive social media posts and confirmed that the individual in question had been placed on immediate unpaid leave.
Ardmore City Schools deferred to the DCNF in a press release.
