A New Jersey couple are claiming it's “raining fish” after dashcam footage showed fish falling from the sky and shattering their car's windshield.
Cynthia and Jeff Levin said they heard their car alarm go off Sunday afternoon and went to see what was going on, only to find the windshield of their Tesla Y shattered. according to Asbury Park Press (APP). According to the media, the car was parked in the driveway of the home when the incident occurred.
“We were confused. We looked at the garage camera and there was nothing. Then we saw on the Tesla dash cam a fish falling from the sky, bouncing off the windshield and landing in the garage,” Cynthia told APP.
A video shared by NBC New York shows the fish falling out of the windshield amid a splatter of broken glass, before appearing to land in the open garage. (Related: Wildlife video captures deer diving through bus windshield).
According to APP, the couple found the one-pound bluefish lying on the floor of their garage. The media outlet reported that bluefish are a common fish along the Jersey shore and can easily grow to over 10 pounds.
According to the outlet, the Levines believe the bird must have had the fish in its mouth and accidentally dropped it, with Cynthia pointing out what appeared to be claw marks on the fish's skin.
According to the APP report, the couple's next step is to prove to their insurance company that a fish did in fact hit their car and shatter the windshield. The couple reportedly had their car towed away on Monday to have it repaired.
