Grand Canyon, Arizona – Heritage Days will take place on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park from Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4. Each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Heritage Days programs and demonstrations will take place throughout the developed areas of the North Rim.
A special commemorative kickoff event will be held at North Rim Lodge on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 6 p.m., according to a National Park Service news release.
Heritage Days provides visitors and staff with an opportunity to experience and celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the Colorado Plateau, Arizona Strip and Grand Canyon regions.
During Heritage Days, members of the Associated Tribes will offer special programs and demonstrations ranging from music and dance performances to presentations on their connections to the Grand Canyon.
This year, representatives from the Hopi, Zuni, Diné (Navajo), Southern San Juan Paiute and Kaibabich (Kaibab) Paiute Indian tribes will be participating, along with rangers from Grand Canyon National Park and Pipe Springs National Monument.
The event is supported by the Grand Canyon Conservation Association, Aramark Resorts and Grand Canyon National Park's Cultural Demonstrator Program.
