White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declined to answer a question from EWTN correspondent Owen Jensen about whether President Joe Biden was uncomfortable with parts of the Olympic opening ceremony.
Jensen repeatedly asked questions without being invited to speak at the opening ceremony, where cross-dressers sat around a table representing Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper. The ceremony sparked outrage among many Christians who saw the performance as a mockery of their faith.
“Did the president see the 'Last Supper' controversy at the Olympics?” Jensen yelled. “You know what? Did the president see it?”
“I have nothing. I appreciate the question, but I have nothing to share,” Jean-Pierre said.

Jensen then touched on Biden's Catholic faith, again asking whether he shared the anger of his fellow Christians over the ceremony.
“Millions of Christians around the world were outraged by this. The president is a Christian. Was he outraged by this? But was the president outraged? Did he see it?” he asked.
Jean-Pierre seemed extremely indignant as he quickly moved on to the next question.
Ceremony director Thomas Jolly said the performance was inspired by pagan celebrations rather than Christian ones, highlighting the use of the Greek god Dionysus. according to Until the deadline. “This is not my inspiration, that's clear. Dionysus comes on the table. Why is he there? First of all, he is the Greek god of festivals and this tableau is called 'The Feast,'” Jolie told Deadline. “He's also the god of wine, one of the jewels of France, and the father of Sequana, the goddess of the Seine,” he continued. “The idea was to depict a big pagan festival that had to do with the Olympian gods, the Olympics.”
Producers involved in the project said in a statement that the painting was the inspiration for the scene, but insisted that Jolie had no intention of showing “disrespect” to Christians. according to To The Wrap.
