Former President Donald Trump agreed to debate Vice President Kamala Harris on Fox News in early September.
The debate will take place on Sept. 4 in Pennsylvania at a location to be determined, with a live audience and broadcast on Fox News and moderated by Fox hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, Trump said in a post Friday night. post Trump was originally scheduled to debate President Joe Biden on ABC in September, but those plans appeared to change after Biden became emotional during his debate with Trump on June 27 and then dropped out of the race on July 21 to endorse Harris.
“I have an agreement with Fox News to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th. The debate was previously scheduled with Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC but was canceled due to Biden no longer participating and my ongoing litigation with ABC network and George Slopadopolos creating a conflict of interest,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “The Fox News debate will be in Pennsylvania at a location to be determined. Fox News Digital report Trump's announcement that he would agree to debate Harris comes after Fox News had invited both candidates to debate on its network on September 17, the outlet reported.
“Donald Trump is running scared, trying to get out of a debate he already agreed to and asking Fox News for help,” said Michael Tyler, communications director for the Harris campaign. “Trump needs to stop playing ball and show up to the debate he already committed to on September 10th.” according to He told NBC News: “The vice president will be there anyway for a chance to speak to a national audience in prime time. I'm happy to discuss further debates after the one the sides have already agreed to. Mr. Anytime, Anywhere, Anywhere should have no problem with that, unless he's too scared to show up on the 10th.”
Harris is Tightened The Democratic nominee, who is set to announce her running mate soon, said she's ready to face Trump in a debate and suggested the former president was trying to run away from the Sept. 10 ABC debate. according to To the Associated Press.
Friday night post Trump also slammed Truth Social for “disrespectfully” choosing Democrats to remove Biden from their nomination list in favor of Harris.
“As we all know, the Democrats unconstitutionally chose a candidate who was confirmed defeated and unceremoniously replaced him with a new candidate. This is unprecedented and a threat to our democracy, but I am fully prepared to accept the outcome of this 'coup' and replace Joe with crazy Kamala Harris on the debate stage,” Trump wrote. “I spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time and effort fighting Joe, and then as soon as I won the debate, they threw a new candidate into the ring. It's not fair, but it is what it is! However, different candidates, their bad policies are the same, and this will be made crystal clear at the debate on September 4th. I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris on September 4th.”
The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
