Bodycam Footage Shows Police Fatally Take Down Suspect In Convenience Store

New body camera footage captures the moments before a sheriff's deputy and a 19-year-old suspect were shot and killed at a 7-Eleven in Florida on July 12, FOX 35 reported Tuesday.

Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) officers reportedly tracked the suspected gang member, a 19-year-old man identified as Tristan Mayberry, to a 7-Eleven and confronted him in the candy section. Fox 35Body camera footage shows the deputy asking Mayberry, “Boss, you do know that only one of you can ride a scooter, right?” (RELATED: Police shoot and kill suspect accused of attacking elderly man with an axe)

Mayberry responded, “No, I didn't know,” and then walked away when the officer asked him if he had identification.

“Hey, come here! Stop! Stop! Stop!” the deputy said with his gun drawn as he followed Mayberry to the back of the store, to a refrigerator.

“Hands up! Hands up!” a second deputy can be heard saying, confronting Mayberry as he comes around the corner of the aisle.

OCSO is Facebook Mayberry then “moved toward his hip-mounted gun” and was shot by a first deputy, the post said.

After the shooting, the video shows a second deputy struggling with Mayberry on the floor, pointing at the suspect's weapon and saying, “Don't grab it! Stop it!”

Deputies said Mayberry ignored their commands and continued to reach for a 9mm handgun with an extended magazine that was strapped to his hip, so the first deputies fired six more shots, FOX 35 reported.

Despite first aid from officers, Mayberry was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

No officers or civilians were injured in the incident, according to an OCSO Facebook post.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident, the sheriff's department said in a statement.
