‘It Is A Lie’: Fox News’ Will Cain Fires Back At Dem For Claiming Trump Supports National Abortion Ban

“Fox & Friends” guest co-host Will Cain on Friday sparred with Democratic strategist Richard Fowler over claims that former President Donald Trump supported Project 2025 and a nationwide abortion ban.

Trump has repeatedly said he does not support a nationwide abortion ban and has said on multiple occasions that he has “nothing to do with banning abortion.” Project 2025Founded by the Heritage Foundation, Fowler is a Trump Supreme Court nominee. Overturn After Kaine questioned Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz about false claims about Trump's positions on abortion and Project 2025, Trump filed an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals in June 2022 over Roe v. Wade to defend his claim that he wanted to ban abortion. (RELATED: Fox News host directly asks Biden Cabinet secretary when he knew the president was “unfit” for duty)

“You lied. Why did Tim Walz and Kamala Harris continue to tell the lie that Donald Trump wants to pass a nationwide abortion ban with or without Congressional approval? That's a lie, it's fact-checked,” Cain asked Fowler. “They did it two nights in a row. Trump has publicly said multiple times, including yesterday on Fox & Friends, 'I'm not in favor of abortion bans,' and yet they continue to tell that lie, Richard.”

“I think what Tim Walz and Kamala Harris are talking about is part of his platform, the part that was written by his aides in Project 2025, that his vice president supported, which is to pass a national anti-abortion law,” Fowler argued. “We'll have to wait and see what the president does. If you follow Donald Trump's record, you see what he did on the Supreme Court during his last term as president. He overturned Roe v. Wade, he picked justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade.”

Cain told Fowler that the Supreme Court's decision upholding a Mississippi law restricting abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy “is not the same thing” as banning abortion.

“But Will, Will, what happened is only the beginning, and the proof is in the doing,” Fowler argued.

“The same goes for 2025,” Kaine responded. “Once again, he has openly said that's not my policy plan. They continue to create lies and a non-existent opponent.”

Fowler said the Project 2025 documents were written by people who worked in the Trump administration. (RELATED: 'I intend to move forward': Harris Faulkner spars with liberal guest over VP's 'journalism blunder')

“There are think tank people all over Washington, D.C., who are creating wish lists,” Cain told Fowler. “Heritage is a think tank. Heritage is a think tank with its own wish list.”

“This is not a policy that he wholeheartedly embraces,” Cain added. “As with the nationwide abortion ban, he has made it very clear that 'this is not my plan.'”
