RFK Jr. Says In Court Filing He Will Endorse Trump

Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in a court filing Friday that he supports former President Donald Trump, The Associated Press reported.

Kennedy filed the court papers in Pennsylvania on Friday ahead of a speech to the nation outlining “the path forward.” According to Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, also suggested Wednesday that Kennedy might “work with” the Republican candidate, speaking to the Associated Press. “We are looking at two options: one is to stay and form a new party, but there is a risk that Kamala Harris and Walz will become president. “Because we're going to draw votes from Trump, somehow we're going to draw more votes from Trump,” Shanahan told “Impact Theory” podcast host Tom Bilyeu on Tuesday. “Or we're going to pull out right now and align ourselves with Donald Trump. And then we're going to pull out and explain to our supporters why we're making this decision.”

President Trump on Thursday Reports Regarding Kennedy's possible withdrawal and endorsement, Trump said he would be “honored” to receive the support of an independent candidate. Regarding Kennedy's character, Trump said he had “the right heart,” and reflected on the “very bad” way the Democratic Party treated him, including by banning him from debates and imposing rules favorable to Biden. “You know, he's kind of a quirky guy. Very smart, very good guy. I'd be very honored if he endorsed me,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Lawrence Jones and Brian Kilmeade, along with guest host Will Cain, on Thursday. “He's a really good, respectable guy. Women like some of his policies, I think some people don't like his policies. But overall, the Democrats — he was a Democrat — I don't know about now, but they treated him very badly.”

In a post on X on Thursday, Shanahan also slammed the Democratic Party's response to Kennedy's candidacy.

“Whenever we point out that Democrats and their super PACs have sabotaged our campaign, their response is always, 'But Trump is worse,'” Shanahan said. said The post read: “Here's a great idea: Stop suing us. Let's debate. Stop manipulating the media and the polls. It's simple. Let's all follow it.”

Kennedy announced in October that he would continue to run as an independent, criticizing Democrats for blocking his candidacy and differentiating himself from partisan Democrats with his views on censorship, mandatory vaccinations, illegal immigration and the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

Kennedy's approval rating plummeted after Biden dropped out of the race in July and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

Before Biden's withdrawal, Kennedy had double-digit support in several polls. Forbes/HarrisX vote A survey from June showed Kennedy leading by 16 percentage points, while Trump had a five-point lead over Biden, with 41% and 36%, respectively.
