RFK Jr. Announces He Will ‘Actively’ Campaign With Donald Trump, Says Other Democrats Will Join The Team

Former independent 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Sunday that he will “actively” campaign alongside 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Kennedy made a campaign stop on Friday afternoon to endorse Trump, then worked with the former president that evening at a rally in Phoenix, Ariz. Kennedy told “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream that he expected Trump to work with other Democrats as the election cycle progresses.

“I'm going to be campaigning vigorously,” Kennedy told Bream. “President Trump will be making a series of announcements about other Democrats who will be joining the campaign. And, you know, I want to make America whole again, and so does President Trump.”

Kennedy told Bream that he and Trump agree that healthy children should be part of Trump's legacy if he is re-elected. (Related: Donald Trump says RFK Jr. will “probably” play a role in his administration)

Kennedy took to social media on Sunday morning to say his endorsement of Trump was just the beginning of a “unity” platform for Republican candidates.

“This is just the beginning,” Kennedy wrote to X. “Wait until you see who joins President Trump's united government next. #UniteAmerica #MAHA.”

Minutes earlier, Kennedy posted an explanation of “what 'MAGA' really means.”

“The phrase has troubled liberals who see it as a call for a return to the America before civil rights, gay rights and women's rights. But I have a more charitable interpretation, one that is truer to my current experience with Donald Trump,” Kennedy wrote.

“Make America Great Again evokes a nation full of energy and drive, hope and faith,” he continued. “An America that was beginning to confront its dark shadows and acknowledge injustices past and present, while also being able to celebrate its successes. America was a country with widespread prosperity, the world's most vibrant middle class, and an idealistic belief in freedom, justice and democracy (even if it was not always consistently lived up to it). America led the world in innovation, productivity and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world.”

“I've spoken to a lot of Trump supporters. I've spoken to his aides. And I've spoken to Trump himself. This is the America they want to restore,” Kennedy concluded.
