The likely winner of the statewide primary for federal office on July 30 will advance to the general election in November to face off against the candidate from the opposing party.
According to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office, as of noon Wednesday, 97% of precincts statewide had reported results, with 1,073,344 votes cast – 26.12% of the 4,109,270 voters statewide.
In La Paz County, 2,673 votes were cast, including 2,144 from Republicans and 522 from Democrats.
In Yuma County, 18,124 votes were cast, which represents 17.05% of the total 106,325 registered voters.
US Senate –
Republican Sen. Kali Lake will challenge Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego for the seat that will be vacated by Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema at the end of her current term.
Lake defeated fellow Republican Sheriff Mark Lamb and faces off against Gallego, who is unopposed.
Statewide, Lake received 341,577 votes, or 55.3 percent, while Lamb received 242,933 votes, or 39.3 percent. Gallego, who was unopposed, received 424,088 votes.
In La Paz County, Lake received 1,246 votes to Lamb's 786. Gallego received 491 votes.
In Yuma County, Lake received 6,867 votes, or 60.55 percent, while Lamb received 4,014 votes, or 35.39 percent. Gallego received 5,864 votes.
Representative for the 7th Congressional District of the United States –
In the 7th District, Republican Rep. Daniel Francis Buttierez Sr. will face off against incumbent Democratic Rep. Raul M. Grijalva.
District-wide, Buttierez, who was elected unopposed, received 21,161 votes. Grijalva, who was elected unopposed, received 46,484 votes.
In Yuma County, Buttierez received 2,530 votes, while Grijalva received 3,275.
US House of Representatives 9th District Representative –
In the 9th District, Republican incumbent Paul Gosar faces off against Democrat Quacy Smith, neither of whom are running against an unopposed candidate.
District-wide, Gosar received 74,912 votes, while Smith received 46,484.
In La Paz County, Gosar received 1,873 votes to Smith's 446.
In Yuma County, Gosar received 7,439 votes to Smith's 2,453.
