GRAHAM CO., AZ — It’s been a devastating week for a family in the Valley after the search for a 12-year-old girl resulted in more questions than answers.
Betty Taylor It was last seen near Swift Trail Junction on March 20. More than a week later, her family is heartbroken.
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office tells ABC15 they have no clue. However, they say they hope to reunite with Betty soon.
Betty’s uncle, Danny Taylor, said: “We’ve been focused on the positive and that she’s coming home safely.
Danny says the past week has been a nightmare.
“I don’t know where she is, I have no clue. I mean, I went for a walk one beautiful sunny Sunday and she disappeared,” he said through tears.
Disappeared and missing.
“[My] I have a 12-year-old niece who is out there somewhere and we don’t know.
Betty’s dad, Justin Taylor, says this is something his father doesn’t want him to experience.
“It’s difficult and tough. I just hope she gets home safely,” Justin told ABC15, holding back tears.
He says their home doesn’t feel like home without her.
“Quite different. She doesn’t rub my head or bully me,” Justin said.
A daily search operation is underway led by James and Rachael Shotts.
“We have the support from the community. It’s amazing that Safford has come together,” Danny said emotionally.
Betty’s mom, Bonnie Jones, also drove from Kansas to find Betty’s daughter.
“They were putting up flyers all over Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, and putting them up at police stations and talking to them and trying to spread more information,” Justin added.
Betty is 5 feet tall, 5 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. She has shoulder-length brown hair with red highlights.
According to the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, she last wore black trainers with white lettering, a neon-colored baseball cap, jeans, and pink and blue Vans shoes. You may have
“Welcome home. We miss you,” said Betty’s father.
“That’s…that’s what we want. Betty is the only one at home,” Danny told ABC15.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety also issued a missing persons and persons in danger advisory to Taylor.
