Victor Davis Hanson Issues Dark Warning On What Dems Might Do If Trump Wins In 2024

Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, warned on a podcast Friday that Democrats could try to jail former President Donald Trump over the case against special counsel Jack Smith.

In 2023, four criminal indictments were filed against Trump for election interference and mishandling of classified documents. On “The Victor Davis Hanson Show,” Mr. Hanson described Mr. Smith, who recently succeeded in getting Judge Tanya Chutkan to unseal the latest court filings against Mr. Trump, as “out of control.”

“Well, Jack Smith is crazy and out of control. He violated the Department of Justice’s Ethical Conduct Handbook, which is not to indict major politicians or move forward with indictments after 90 to 60 days,” Hanson said. said.

“He went after Virginia Governor Bob McConnell and was disgraced and was reversed 9-0 by the Supreme Court for trying to demonize him,” Hanson added. “So he has this reputation that if he wants to destroy a right-wing political candidate, he’ll do anything, anytime, anywhere to pick this Jack Smith. And he has no ethics.”

Hanson went on to say that he believes Smith will persuade a “biased jury” to convict Trump if he wins the 2024 presidential election. He also claimed that if Trump were to go to prison, Vice President Kamala Harris would invoke the 25th Amendment against President Joe Biden, allowing her to become president. “So, yeah, like I said, I think I’m really worried about a scenario where Donald Trump wins the electorate.” [and] Kamala Harris won the popular vote but lost the presidency. Jack Smith then attempts to indict, convict, and put Donald Trump in prison before a biased jury. Joe Biden has now become an aloof fool. And she is around late November or December. [calls for] The 25th Amendment, and she’s president,” Hanson said.

“She says, “I won the general electorate, and he’s in jail,” and the Constitution would say, well, J.D. Vance– [well, it] He wouldn’t even say that. nothing in the constitution [that] “I’m saying you can’t be president while in prison,” Hanson continued. “But if there was some weird court will, J.D. Vance would be elected vice president and serve for a month or two until Trump leaves office. But I don’t think they would do that. I don’t think so.”

On October 2, Judge Tanya Chutkan released an edited version of Smith’s 165-page legal brief, which addressed the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity in the election interference case against Trump. Mr. Trump’s lawyers asked the judge to suspend Mr. Smith’s presentation in court, but Mr. Chutkan said There is “no support” for their argument that the release constitutes “a frivolous motion for summary judgment in the court of public opinion.”

“What didn’t they do? They’ll do anything, but they don’t understand that the more desperate and shrill they are, the more people will be disgusted with them,” Hanson added. .

Mr. Trump’s lawyers currently have until November 7th to file a response to Mr. Smith’s allegations, and Mr. Smith has until November 21st to respond with a response. According to Go to ABC News.
