The name has changed, but everything else remains the same.
“It’s not a new organization. It’s the same thing that’s been here forever and will continue into the future. The same people, the same doctors, the same nurses, the same care team, but that’s what makes us who we are. We will define it more clearly.” Dr. Robert Trenchell, CEO of Onvida Health.
Trenchell said he has been working on developing Onvida Health for more than a year. He said he believes this is an umbrella name for all the people they serve.
Over the decades, YRMC has grown from a hospital to a health system that includes more than 40 outpatient clinics and facilities.
“As we seek opportunities to expand our organization in South County, East County and outside of Yuma County, we need a name that represents that,” he said.
He said Onvida Health is already considering expansion opportunities.
“Needs change, so we wanted to look to the future and see what we need to do to grow to meet the needs of our community. “And we need to change accordingly,” he said.
One of the needs they are trying to fill is health care in San Luis.

“While it may seem geographically close to people who live in other areas, it is not to the people who actually live there. They need services and they are close to home. You deserve the service,” Trenchell said.
They are also exploring opportunities to expand outside the prefecture.
“We are looking for opportunities in the South West and welcome any opportunity where we can add value to our community and organization.”
