Americans’ trust in the mass media has fallen to an all-time low heading into the November election, according to a new Gallup poll released Monday.

According to the survey, Democrats expressed the highest confidence in the media’s ability to report the news “fully, accurately and fairly,” with 54% saying they trust the media. Age also makes a difference, with 74% of Democrats over 65 having some or a lot of trust in the media, compared to just 31% of Democrats between 18 and 29.
