DPS trooper shoots, kills suspect in Apache County

The shooting occurred around 10:15 p.m. near US 191 and East Sun Lane in Saunders, Arizona, officials said.

Sanders, Arizona — Suspect shot dead Arizona Department of Public Safety Apache County troopers on Saturday night.

DPS officials said the shooting occurred near US 191 and East Sun Lane in Saunders, Arizona at around 10:15 p.m.

Saunders is Located at the intersection of Route 191 and Interstate 40 Near the border of Arizona and New Mexico.

No soldiers were injured in the shooting, according to the DPS.

Authorities said they were still investigating what led to the shooting. DPS did not disclose what the suspect was being asked to do.
