‘They Have No Compassion’: Victor Davis Hanson Breaks Down How Trump ‘Terrifies’ The ‘Out-Of-Touch Wealthy Elite’

Victor Davis Hanson said Monday on Fox News that former President Donald Trump is “scaring” “out-of-touch wealthy elites” because they lack compassion for the concerns of average Americans. He said this was due to a lack of understanding.

Hanson claimed President Trump has redefined the Republican Party as a coalition of upper-middle-class and lower-middle-class citizens, and both traditional Republicans and Democrats are scrambling to respond. Mr. Hanson reflected on Mr. Trump’s ability to galvanize his base by shifting the focus of the Republican Party from elites to a broader group of American workers.

“President Trump is saying you’re right about FDR. He said the only thing you have to fear is fear itself. There are no limits to what we can do. I We can secure our borders. Don’t worry about being ostracized, vilified, criticized, or called names,” Hanson told Laura Ingraham. “We can reduce crime. We can reshape our foreign policy. And everything is possible. And we are no longer an elitist party made up of wealthy white people and golf-playing Republicans.” You won’t have that fixed idea.”

The Republican Party has long been portrayed as the party of “rich white people” and golf-playing elites, but Trump has subverted that image by replacing race with a focus on class, Hanson said.

“It wasn’t a fair stereotype, but it was the fact. He replaced race with class. And he said, ‘We’re a party of the upper middle class and the lower middle class, and no one are being invited, and that’s why the old non-Trump elites on the Republican side are scared,” Hanson continued. “They don’t like it. Neither do the leftists. And more importantly, when he creates this new movement, this new Republican Party, what’s the anger, the rage, the frenzy on the left? It showed that.”

Hanson suggested that President Trump’s populist coalition reveals fissures in the Democratic establishment, which he characterizes as increasingly disconnected from America’s middle class. “They are really a party of wealthy elites who are out of touch with society: the Obamas, the Clintons, the Harrises, the people in Silicon Valley. They have shown themselves to be emperors without clothes. I’m really outraged by this,” Hanson added. “They really only care about themselves and the esoteric elite’s plans to destroy the middle class; they have no compassion.”

Looking back at the intense political attacks on Trump, Hanson sees them as a sign of deep-seated panic among political elites.

“So we’re at the end of a 10-year story: Russian collusion, Russian disinformation, legal action, removing him from the ballot, and two assassination attempts,” Hanson said. I concluded. “And what’s left for them? All they have left is that he’s Hitler. He’s a fascist, he’s a Nazi.”

Vice President Kamala Harris called former President Trump a fascist at a town hall last Thursday, citing former chief of staff John Kelly’s warnings about the dangers of a possible second term. The Trump campaign denies this claim.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that President Joe Biden agrees with John Kerry’s assessment that President Trump is a fascist, as reported by the New York Times. Jean-Pierre reiterated that Biden believes Trump aimed to rule as a dictator from day one.
