SPECIAL REPORT: The Cat Colonies of Yuma County

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma County is home to more than 1,000 cat colonies, each rescued and cared for by local residents.

I was able to ride along with one of the many cat caretakers in the Fortuna foothills and share how they care for their cats.

As part of Foothills Community Cat Caregivers LLC, Mark and Jan come to feed and care for stray cats in the area every day, 365 days a year.

Jean also revealed that she eats a 13-gallon bag containing about 60 cans of cat food every day.

Vaccination Clinic by Foothills Community Cats Caregivers, LLC. will be holding an event at 1963 S Arizona Ave. on Saturday the 26th from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This event is for domestic pets only (starting at $15 for cats and $20 for dogs).
