Fox News host Harris Faulkner on Thursday cut former Democratic National Committee spokesperson Jose Aristimno after he claimed former President Donald Trump supports a nationwide abortion ban.
President Trump has repeatedly said he would not sign a nationwide abortion ban, saying it is a matter for the states to decide, but he opposes a pro-abortion Fourth Amendment referendum in Florida. He also made his intentions clear, telling Fox News that it was a step too far. Faulkner asked Aristimno about President Trump’s efforts to reach out to women, including the town hall that aired on Fox News. “Look, Harris, when you want to issue a national abortion ban, let me tell you, his running mate, Vance, says he wants to do that –” Aristimno said.

“But Jose, you know he denies it,” Faulkner interjected. ”
In June 2022, the Supreme Court upheld Mississippi’s ban on most abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy in a 6-3 decision, overturning Roe v. Wade in 1973. Three of the majority justices were appointed by President Trump.
“Look, it was just a moment,” Aristimno insisted.
“But you used that as an example, and I wanted to counter that,” Mr. Faulkner replied.
In May 2023, President Trump called Florida’s law that restricts abortions after the sixth week of pregnancy, when a fetal heartbeat can be detected, “too strict” and opposed Republican Governor Ron DeSantis in the race for the Republican nomination. Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, Trump’s running mate, said the former president: rejection Abortion will be banned nationwide in August.
