Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Saturday announced Harris’ oath of office to a crowd of about 1,300 people in downtown Flagstaff.
He is the first person for either presidential candidate to campaign in the city during this election period.
Walz drew a contrast between Trump and previous successful Republicans in the state.
“They under Donald Trump, this is not John McCain’s Republican Party,” Walz said.
He told KNAU that the Harris administration will be good for northern Arizona, promising to improve broadband internet access and keep hospitals open. He said rural and tribal voters could play a decisive role in presidential elections.
“These are very rural, often isolated communities. We need to get broadband there and ensure hospitals stay open, but there are a lot of votes there and we said… I think the Navajo Nation can do that,” Walz said. Swing Arizona. ”
Walz’s visit to Flagstaff comes a week after campaigning in Window Rock, the capital of the Navajo Nation.
In Arizona, a key battleground state, there is a flurry of activity ahead of Election Day tomorrow. Also on Saturday, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance advocated for Trump’s second term at a rally in Scottsdale.
