On Tuesday night, multiple Silicon Valley CEOs, from Jeff Bezos to Mark Zuckerberg, congratulated President-elect Donald Trump on his victory.
Many of the CEOs who have congratulated Trump have faced accusations of left-wing bias and censorship, and their companies have experienced backlash from conservatives. But despite Silicon Valley’s historically left-leaning leanings, several technology company CEOs praised Trump on Wednesday.
Jeff Bezos congratulated the president-elect on his “extraordinary political comeback.” Bezos owns the Washington Post, which has not endorsed the 2024 presidential election. The newspaper’s refusal to endorse Kamala Harris reportedly cost it hundreds of thousands of subscribers and sparked a backlash among its staff.
Bezos previously wrote an op-ed detailing why “Americans no longer trust the news media.” (Related: Jeff Bezos criticizes Washington Post, gives media a glimmer of hope)
I sincerely congratulate the 45th and now 47th President on his extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory. No country has greater opportunity. With a wish @realDonaldTrump To succeed in guiding and uniting the America we all love.

This was only Bezos’ second tweet this year. In July, he tweeted support for Trump after an assassination attempt occurred at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Our former president tonight showed tremendous grace and courage under literal gunfire. We are grateful that he is safe, and we are deeply saddened by the victim and his family.

But both the Post and Amazon have a history of left-wing bias.
The Post recently article The caption, “Trump Embraces Violent Rhetoric, Suggests Cheney Should Shoot Gun ‘in the Face,”’ says Trump wanted to put Liz Cheney in front of firing squad. mentioned false claims. Support from the editorial board hasn’t hurt its reputation. @Washington Postthe blatant left-wing bias of its reporters and editors on the news side is the reason it has lost the trust of many Americans.

Amazon’s Alexa previously endorsed Harris over Trump as the presidential candidate, but the company said that was a mistake. Amazon also censors books written by conservatives.
In 2021, some books critical of the transgender movement were removed from online stores. The book “When Harry Became Sally: A Response to the Transgender Moment” became a bestseller. The Biden-Harris administration pressured Amazon to censor books that were skeptical of coronavirus vaccines, according to emails obtained by the House Judiciary Committee.
Notably, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy also issued a statement congratulating President Trump on his victory.
“I look forward to working with you and your administration on issues that matter to your customers, employees, communities and country,” said Mr. Jassy. (Related: Amazon confirms it shut off a random man’s smart home after he called him a racist)

Zuckerberg: “Congratulations on President Trump’s decisive victory” said In an Instagram thread. “We have great opportunities as a nation, and I look forward to working with you and your administration.”
Both Meta and Google have been accused of censorship and left-wing bias.
Facebook worked with the FBI to censor articles about Hunter Biden’s laptop. It also bowed to pressure from the Biden-Harris administration to censor certain views on the coronavirus. Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged that the government put pressure on Meta. expressed regret letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan. President Trump suggested in August that Congress could “shut down” Google over allegations of bias and censorship against conservatives.
That same month, Pichai testified before the House Oversight Committee’s Special Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government about Google’s censorship of information about Trump’s first assassination attempt.
Google’s parent company Alphabet told the committee that when users searched for “President Donald,” autocomplete search results did not show results for Trump due to a software “bug.” (Related article: Google suffers major blow after federal judge rules that it violates US antitrust law)
