PHOENIX — Tyler Kamp has conceded in the race to Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan.
On Wednesday night, after the latest vote count dropped, Kump posted on X: “I wish the next Sheriff Sheridan the best of luck.” Unofficial Maricopa County election results showed Sheridan leading by more than 97,000 votes.

Sheridan, who first started working for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in 1977 and was promoted to Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s chief deputy in 2010, said his priorities include interdicting drug smuggling and improving MCSO staffing.
Sheridan said he was different and had less baggage than Arpaio. He has advocated for the establishment of a detention center for minor offenders “like Tent City used to be” to free up prison space and allow minor offenders to work in furlough programs.
