Meet Artie, a 1-year-old boxer mix who has been in the care of the Arizona Humane Society for nearly 60 days. Artie was found stray in a parking lot at the height of summer. He had a chain hanging around his neck and was clearly malnourished. Every time he tried to eat, his body refused to hold down the food, only exacerbating an already concerning condition. After an initial examination at our trauma hospital revealed no other noticeable health problems, Artie stayed in the home of a loving foster hero, where he was socialized and regained his faith in humans, which he so desperately needs. I was able to gain weight. Having risen through the ranks, Artie is ready to find his forever family. All staff and volunteers who have met this silly boy report that he is one of the goofiest and friendliest puppies ever. He already knows how to command and will do anything for a good feast. He is full of energy and would be the perfect companion for an outdoorsy adventurer. Artie has to be the only dog in the house, but he more than makes up for it with his personality. Remi and Audrey – This is a pair of adorable, adoptable seniors currently in the care of AAWL. Remi and Audrey came to AAWL from National Mill Dog Rescue. They were rescued from a commercial breeding facility where they were kept in small, dirty cages and only let out to breed. These two were adopted last year, but unfortunately their family is no longer able to care for them, so they are currently looking for a forever home for them to spend their golden years. For the first 8-10 years of your life, you are looking for a family that will be patient and provide a calm environment for you to flourish.
