Dead cows in Yavapai County are not real, sheriff says

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office received an interesting call this week from a resident who witnessed a disturbing scene while passing by the property.

YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office received a call this week from a concerned resident who may have come across a gruesome scene.

The caller told YCSO that he was passing by a short-term rental property and noticed what appeared to be a bloody cow carcass spread out in the yard. The caller speculated that perhaps the facility was being used as some kind of slaughterhouse.

“It looked very strange,” the caller told the sheriff’s office. “…That’s strange.”

Deputies were dispatched to the scene and discovered that the carcass was nothing more than an elaborate prop used in Prescott’s film project.

YCSO warned the community that if anyone else sees these brutal props, there is no need to worry as they are not real.
