When it comes to media relations, Donald Trump is in a different league.

Trump has no friends, and even MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhl admitted as much on a variety show earlier this month.

Ruhl explained how she tried to meet with President Trump after his October rally at Madison Square Garden, and did what normal people do when they want to get in touch with someone. Similarly, she explained how she called Trump.

“I called him and he answered!” she said, to a roar from the audience.

“I dialed his phone and got in touch!” she continued.

She also contrasted easy access with trying to reach out to the Biden-Harris campaign.

“It’s the opposite. If I want to connect with Vice President Harris or President Biden… there’s 50 people between me and them,” she explained.

“If you write a note that might get to somebody, that might get to somebody, something might go through the Pony Express or the pigeons and end up in a mailbox near that person.”

Of course, the rules don’t immediately put on the MAGA hat. But any real journalist would ponder the praise and disdain she inadvertently uttered.

Even for those who sympathize with President Trump’s approachable flair, the Biden-Harris formula seems far more intuitive in American politics. Why is it so easy to call the president? Of course, it has to go through an army of handlers, advisors, and communicators. That’s how the modern world works. Whether you call the president or your cable network’s customer service line, you’ll inevitably wade through a sea of ​​unnecessary red tape.
