Several Republican leaders have opposed the stopgap bill, with Musk and President-elect Donald Trump spearheading efforts to prevent a partial government shutdown.
If this bill had passed, current government funding levels would be Extended until March 14th. Hardline Republicans were furious when they learned that the bill would include unrelated measures, including pay increases for politicians and Congressional workers. Because of course. Mr. Trump and Mr. Musk threatened to remove members of Congress from their positions if they did not support the debt limit action bundled with the Continuing Resolution (CR), leading to the bill’s demise. In the end, the bill passed the House without a single Democrat voting against it.
Over 24 hours later, Cloud joined the chat. This was probably caused by a random headline and, oh well, did she say something laughably ignorant?
“So when everyone goes home, are you going to tell Elon to go back to Africa?” Cloud wrote on social media.
I really love that all these billionaires have no idea how the three branches of government work or how legislation gets passed.
